IDeAs Design Facility - Net Zero Sustainable Project
IDeAs Design Facility, San Jose
7,000 s.f. Net Zero Energy/Zero Carbon Emission Corporate Office Building. Design Assist General Contractor. Designed to LEED Gold standards. Construction included the complete site, exterior and interior renovation. Project includes roof integrated photovoltaic system powering 100% of its electrical needs. Ground source heat pump providing radiant heating and cooling with natural “fresh air” ventilation eliminating need for natural gas and reducing power consumption by 40%. Building renovation included new window opening using high performance glazing systems and increase insulation. Skylights were added to roof to reduce the need for electric lighting by 60%. Highly efficient plumbing system including waterless and dual flush devices with electronic controls reducing the potable water consumption by 40%. Natural bio swells were used to filter storm water and reduce run-off. Drought tolerant planting and specialized irrigation controls were used to minimize water use by 75%.

26,500 s.f. Dahlin Architect Group Headquarters. LEED Certified. Two story retrofit with all new exterior glazing and sun shades. Retrofit Includes the conversion of covered parking into office space. The project highlights a new two story entry addition with exposed structural steel and floor to ceiling glazing. Construction included installing a new interior stairwell and light shaft. All new HVAC and electrical systems and controls. Extensive millwork and high end finishes throughout.
